A small-group program featuring historian Catherine Simpson Bueker on how Wellesley has evolved over time, based on her book Beyond White Picket Fences.
In Beyond White Picket Fences, historian and professor Catherine Simpson Bueker explores how the town of Wellesley has evolved over time, moving beyond familiar images of suburban life to reveal a more complex local history. Drawing on research connected to the current exhibit, Wellesley Through Time, Bueker examines the social, cultural, and physical changes that have shaped the community, and how those shifts continue to influence Wellesley today. This program is part of Conversations in History, a new series designed as a smaller-group alternative to the larger Speaker Series, encouraging closer engagement with the topic and conversation among attendees. The event will take place at the Wellesley History & Exhibit Center on February 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
Admission is free, but seating is limited - please reserve your spot here.
