Research Internship-Summer 2017
The Wellesley Historical Society is seeking a research intern to develop a self-guided tour for a phone app. The tour will feature the history of Wellesley Square. The intern will be responsible for choosing ten locations within the Square, researching the history of those locations using the Society’s archives, and writing an engaging description of each one. The text will then be used in a free app for members of the community to use.
Candidates must be comfortable with primary source research, have strong writing skills, and be able to work independently. History or museum studies graduate student preferred.
The internship is unpaid, but can be used to complete course credits within the guidelines of the college or university the student is attending. The intern will report directly to the executive director, and will work 60 hours between June and August 2017 (8 hours per week). Work time and days are flexible.
